1. Introduction

Sure Scale Private Limited (UEN 202407567D), a company registered in Singapore and trading as Data Surfer ("Data Surfer", "we", "us", or "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on our website located at https://data-surfer.com and our Data Surfer platform (collectively, the "Services").

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, your choices regarding cookies, and further information about cookies. Essential cookies are used by default to enable core functionality. Non-essential cookies (analytics) are only placed after you provide explicit consent via our cookie banner.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to the website owners.

Cookies allow a website to recognize your device and remember if you've been to the website before. They can be used to store your preferences, remember your settings, analyze how you use the website, and personalize content.

In addition to cookies, we may also use other similar technologies, such as:

  • Local storage: Technologies like HTML5 localStorage that provide similar functionality to cookies but can store larger amounts of data and are not sent to the server with each request.
  • Session storage: Similar to local storage but automatically cleared when the browser tab is closed. Used for temporary functional state.

For simplicity, we refer to all these technologies as "cookies" in this policy.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

We use different types of cookies for various purposes. These cookies may be classified as:

3.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Services to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, network management, and account access. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Services cannot function properly without them.

3.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enable the Services to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you disable these cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly.

3.3 Analytics Cookies (Non-Essential)

These cookies collect information about how visitors use our Services, including which pages visitors go to most often and if they receive error messages. We use this information to improve our Services and understand how users interact with our content. These are the only non-essential cookies we use, and you can opt out via our cookie banner.

For more information about Google Analytics cookies, visit Google's Cookie Policy. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3.4 Marketing Cookies

These cookies are used to track visitors across websites. They are used to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third-party advertisers.

4. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage to store certain preferences and data. Unlike cookies, local storage data is not sent to our servers with each request but remains in your browser until explicitly cleared.

Note: The cookie-consent-accepted key is used on our marketing site (data-surfer.com). All other keys above are used on the platform (app.data-surfer.com). Because these are different origins, localStorage is not shared between them.

5. Third-Party Services

We use certain third-party services that may set cookies or use similar technologies when you interact with them through our Services:

  • Google Analytics - For website analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies to help us understand how visitors use our site. You can opt out via our cookie banner or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Stripe - For payment processing. When you interact with Stripe checkout, they may set their own cookies (such as __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid) according to their cookie policy.
  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 - For security and bot detection on our contact form and login page. reCAPTCHA may set cookies (such as _GRECAPTCHA) and transmit behavioral data to Google. We classify this as strictly necessary for security purposes.
  • Google Fonts - We load fonts from Google's servers, which involves transmitting your IP address to Google. No cookies are set by this service.
  • Google Cloud Platform - Our hosting infrastructure, which may set performance and security headers.

Please note that these third parties may use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

6. Your Choices Regarding Cookies

6.1 Cookie Consent

When you first visit our website, you will be presented with a cookie banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of our website, which will re-display the cookie consent banner.

6.2 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. However, if you limit the ability of websites to set cookies, you may worsen your overall user experience, since it will no longer be personalized to you. It may also stop you from saving customized settings like login information.

To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

6.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. At this time, we do not respond to browser DNT signals as there is no industry-standard implementation.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by applicable law (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act). When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we automatically decline non-essential cookies on your behalf and you will not see a cookie consent banner. Additionally, our analytics cookies default to disabled until you explicitly accept them via the cookie banner.

6.4 Managing Local Storage

You can clear local storage data through your browser settings, typically under "Privacy" or "Storage" sections. This will remove any saved preferences or draft data.

7. Updates to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, our business practices, or for other reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Cookie Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Cookie Policy.

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Services after we post changes to this Cookie Policy means that you accept and agree to the changes.
