Using Data Surfer

These terms apply to the current Data Surfer website and platform operated by Sure Scale Private Limited, Singapore. Contact nick@data-surfer.com. By creating an account or purchasing credits, you agree to these terms. If acting for an organisation, you must have authority to do so.

Data Surfer is a self-service business research tool. Keep access to your account email and passkeys secure, provide accurate details, and use only workspace data you are authorised to access.

Monitoring scope

We collect supported public sources, detect changes and make signals and optional AI analyses available in your workspace. Website watchers select up to 50 pages. Source access, page selection, periodic checks and processing affect coverage. We do not guarantee every page, every change, uninterrupted collection or same-day delivery.

Active or recently changing targets are generally checked every 12 hours; quiet targets can move to daily or three-day checks. Initial collection establishes a baseline. Website, supported LinkedIn and web-mention monitoring are available subject to eligibility; X is not currently supported.

Evaluation and funded workspaces

New workspaces start with zero credits and up to three website watchers for a three-month evaluation. Routine scans, setup and quiet periods cost no credits. Signal details can remain locked until credits are available.

After a credit purchase, a workspace with a positive balance supports up to ten watchers. Advanced monitoring and non-quiet AI analysis require purchased credits and available balance. At zero balance, advanced monitoring pauses and website monitoring has a three-month grace period. Monitoring is suspended when an evaluation or grace period ends without funding; this does not itself delete settings or history.

Credits and payments

Credits are purchased through Stripe: 40 for US$10, 150 for US$30 or 450 for US$75. Applicable tax is shown at checkout. Purchases are one-off, with no subscription or automatic top-up. All packs offer the same capabilities.

Each delivered signal costs one credit. A completed AI analysis batch costs three credits and includes up to 200 signals from up to ten watchers. Larger selections require additional batches. Analysing an existing signal does not incur another signal-delivery charge. Failed, invalid or quiet analysis runs cost nothing. Credits reserved for an unsuccessful run are released.

Active monitoring and scheduled analyses can consume available credits automatically. Pause the relevant watcher or schedule to stop future work. After a top-up, eligible pending work may resume and use credits. Email notification preferences do not control these charges.

Purchased credits currently have no scheduled expiry. They are service credits for the workspace, not money or a transferable cash balance. If we change pricing or introduce an expiry policy, we will explain the change before it applies; we will not silently remove an existing purchased balance.

Payment problems, refunds and closure

Email us about duplicate payments, an incorrect charge or an unused-credit refund request, including your account email and payment reference. We investigate requests individually and correct confirmed billing errors. There is no automatic refund flow, and requesting a refund does not itself approve one. This does not limit any refund or cancellation rights you have under applicable law.

You can pause monitoring or ask us to close your account at any time. Contact us about any remaining credit balance before closure. Retention and deletion are explained in the privacy notice.

Evidence and AI outputs

Source content can be incomplete, unavailable or incorrect. AI outputs are interpretations, can contain mistakes and are not professional advice or a guarantee of an organisation’s intentions. Review the cited evidence before relying on a report. You remain responsible for decisions and outreach based on the service.

Acceptable use and content

Do not use Data Surfer unlawfully, harass people, bypass access controls, probe other workspaces, abuse the service or submit sensitive personal information you lack authority to process. Do not use reports as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

You retain rights in content you submit and permit us and our service providers to process it to deliver and support the service. You may use reports for your legitimate business research, subject to third-party rights and applicable law. Public-source material remains subject to its owners’ rights; access through Data Surfer is not a licence to republish it without permission.

Support and service changes

Support is asynchronous by email. Demos, custom implementation, dedicated support and a service-level agreement are not included. Feature suggestions are welcome but do not create delivery commitments.

We may change features or suspend access for abuse, security, non-payment or legal reasons. We will give reasonable notice of material service changes where practicable. If the service is discontinued, we will explain account-export and unused-credit arrangements; these terms do not permit us to avoid rights you have by law.

Responsibility and disputes

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without a guarantee of complete or error-free results. We are not responsible for third-party source availability or losses caused by your reliance on unverified outputs. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Singapore law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections that apply to you. Singapore courts have jurisdiction except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a dispute elsewhere. Please contact us first if there is a problem so we can try to resolve it.

Updates

We publish changes here with an updated date and notify account holders of material changes where required. Older contact-database offers and subscription-plan announcements do not describe the current service. See Help & support and the changelog.
